BIBF 1120 (Vargatef) is a potent inhibitor of VEGFRs, PDGFRs and FGFRs, which inhibits signalling in endothelial and smooth muscle cells and Pericytes. It also reduces vascular permeability and vessel density in tumour xenografts and induces changes in tumour vessel architecture. BIBF 1120 shows in vivo anti-tumour efficacy in all models tested at well tolerated doses.
