The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family is a group of receptors implicated in the development of NSCLC. The EGFR family consists of four membrane-bound receptor tyrosine kinases (RTK), which include EGFR, HER2, HER3, HER4. In many cancers, such as NSCLC, members of the EGFR family are often overexpressed and can provide an oncogenic signal.
