Q. What is the rationale for conducting the LUX-Breast 1 trial?
A. Now the trial programme for afatinib* focuses completely on the HER2-positive tumours, so the idea is that the broader approach to targeting the HER-family is the more effective one and this is all with using a backbone of chemotherapy that is used in the practices quite often and is a very well-tolerated chemotherapy in that area.
Q. What is the trial programme for afatinib* in breast cancer?
A. We have a large registration trial Phase III trial, the LUX-1 trial, and we have an umbrella of smaller trials sort of covering difficult clinical situation like inflammatory breast cancer, like brain metastases on the side but the focus is on the registration trial.
