A multicentre, randomized, open-label phase III trial of afatinib (compound code BIBW 2992) versus chemotherapy (cisplatin /pemetrexed) as first-line treatment for patients with advanced and metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harbouring an EGFR mutation.
* Afatinib (compound code BIBW 2992) is an investigational agent and not approved for the treatment of NSCLC, its effi cacy and safety have not been established.
